Frequently Asked Questions

Do all of your sunglasses provide 100% protection?

Yes they do. In fact, they have a 400 rating which means they block 100% of UVA, B and C radiation.

What are Driving Sunglasses?

Driving sunglasses have lenses that are designed to block out all UV rays and filter out blue light as well. This type of lens, because of the blue light filter and glare reduction coating, does not need to be as dark as other sunglasses. Driving lenses screen out that annoying light that makes you squint and causes eye strain and headaches. The result is an exceptionally clear lens that actually improves your vision and depth perception. They also allow your eyes to relax so you can wear them all day with no pain.

What is Ultra-Violet light?

Ultra-violet light is a type of high-energy sunlight. It consists of short, invisible rays that are harmful to the body because it is made up of radiation. This is the light that damages your skin (giving you a sunburn), contributes to skin cancer and can damage your eyes in a similar way.

What does UVA, UVB and UVC mean?

UV-C can be extremely damaging to the eye and skin. However, most of it is absorbed by the upper atmosphere before it reaches the earth’s surface. Therefore, it is not a large concern to us.

UV-B causes sunburn and it is the most damaging to the eye and skin. UV-B can penetrate the top two layers of the skin as well as the eye’s cornea (The transparent part of the outer coat of the eyeball).

UV-A is often considered safer than UV-B. However, in some ways it is more dangerous. While UV-B can penetrate the top two layers of skin, UV-A can penetrate more deeply into the skin and cause wrinkles and skin cancer. UV-A rays also are absorbed into the eye’s lens.

What does UV 400 mean?

This number is a rating for ultra-violet protection. Sunglasses are rated just like sunscreens. 400 is the highest rating that is given out for Ultra-Violet protection, meaning they block 100% of UV.

What is "blue light"?

Blue light is another type of light that comes from the sun. It is the light that makes you squint and irritates your eyes. If you have ever been out in the sun for long periods and gotten a headache due to your eyes becoming tired or strained, even when wearing sunglasses, then you have experienced what blue light can do.

Will the pastel and brightly colored Kid’s glasses still protect my child’s eyes?

Yes, all of our children‘s sunglasses give 100% UV protection. The pastel and colored lenses give just as much protection as any other dark pair we sell but still allow you child to have fun shades that look cool!

What brand are these Sunglasses?

We don’t have brand name sunglasses; our glasses are generic. We get them direct from the manufacturer before any brands are put on them. That’s why we can sell them to you for lower prices. Many other companies buy the same glasses from the same manufacturers and have their brand names applied by etching it on the frames or affixing their emblem to the sides or printing their names on the edges of the lenses. They also put a tag on the front with their own logo and a specific price. This way they can charge consumers a lot more money.

Are these sunglasses scratchproof?

Our sunglasses are scratch resistant and will usually last you a long time. They have a scratch resistant coating but they are not scratch proof. No sunglasses are completely "scratch proof" and anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is lying. The good news is that our driving lenses are guaranteed for life so if they do scratch or break for any reason you can send them back for a replacement pair.

How long will it take to receive my replacement sunglasses?

Normally, it takes about one to two weeks for you to get your new sunglasses. However, if your style is on back order it may take up to four weeks.
